A planning application for a tower block containing student accommodation in North Acton is currently subject to consultation.

The latest proposal (23/0014/FUMOPDC) is at 5-7 Park Royal Road and includes the Lower Park Trading Estate (W3 6XA). The site is adjacent to Acton Cemetery and is currently occupied by low-rise residential buildings.

Permission is being sought for a 33-storey building that would contain 888 bed spaces for students with facilities including classrooms, flexible space and two auditoriums, and workshops. There would also be a nine storey tower on the opposite side of the Park Royal Road with 32 residential flats and commercial space on the ground and lower ground floor.

The planning authority for the area is the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) rather than Ealing Council.

The applicant is Tiago Properties Ltd who held previous consultations on this proposal for this site last year. Due to further amendments a new 30 day consultation period has commenced and runs until 2 July.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.

We’ve always done that and won’t be changing, in fact we’d like to do more.

However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. Our financial resources are limited and the local media environment is intensely competitive so there is a constraint on what we can do.

If neither of these amounts is suitable for you then contact info@neighbournet.com and we can set up an alternative. All payments are made through a secure web site.

One-off donations are also appreciated. Choose The Amount You Wish To Contribute.
