The average price of a home sold in the W3 post code area during February was £557,841 according to the latest figures from the Land Registry. This represents the highest monthly average on record surpassing the figure set in January.

There were 41 transactions during the month, seven of which were for over £1,000,000. The highest priced sale was on Goldsmiths Avenue where a house changed hands for £1,300,000.

The average price in London during the month of February was £414,356 which is up by 13.8 % compared with the same month in 2013. For England and Wales as a whole the average is now £170,000 compared with the peak of £181,442 in November 2007 up by 5.3%.

The most up-to-date figures available show that during December 2013 the number of completed house sales in England & Wales increased by 33 per cent to 75,182 compared with 56,697 in December 2012.

The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in December 2013 increased by 44 per cent to 898 from 624 in December 2012.
