Two properties sell for top ten highest prices achieved in W3

The average price of a property sold in Acton has risen to over £400,000 since the end of May according figures from the Land Registry. This suggests that the market has hit new record levels over the Summer months.
The most recent figures show that two properties achieved prices that rank in the top ten of all time for the Acton area. A house in Avenue Crescent became the second most expensive property in W3 after going for £1,995,000 and one in Shaa Road went for £1,475,000 putting it in ninth place. The record sale is of a Perryn Road house which went for £2,200,000.

The July data from Land Registry's flagship House Price Index shows an annual price decrease of 2.1 per cent which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £163,049. By contrast, London prices over the same period rose by 1.3% to £346,416 .
The most up-to-date figures available show that during May 2011, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales decreased by 10 per cent to 46,870 from 52,170 in May 2010. The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million decreased by 44 per cent between May 2010 and May 2011, from 464 to 262.
