Elderly Man Dies After Acton Flat Blaze | |
Thought to have been caused by a cigarette
An elderly man has died after a fire in sheltered housing on Crown Street in Acton in the early hours of Tuesday 10th March. He was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service but later died. The living room of his flat on the third floor of the building was partly damaged by the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation but it’s believed to have been caused by what Lodnon Fire Brigade describe as 'smoking materials'. Two fire engines and around 14 firefighters and officers from Acton and Chiswick fire stations attended the incident. The Brigade was called at 0147 and the fire was under control at 0302.
