Yet Another Tower Block Proposed for Bollo Lane |

Plan to build 95 flats between the two level crossings
Residents in the Acton Green area have received a leaflet informing them of a plan to build another tower block on Bollo Lane. The proposal is to build a stepped structure with six blocks rising from 5 storeys to 12 on the Scuderia sports car garage site at 93 Bollo Lane. This is situated between the two level crossings across the road from the 14 storey Pocket Living tower. Bollo Property Developments Limited is preparing a detailed planning application for a mixed-use scheme with a view to submitting to London Borough of Ealing Council in the near future. The leaflets are part of a pre-application consultation exercise the applicant is obliged to do. The scheme will contain 95 flats ranging from 1 to 3 bedroom with commercial space on a mezzanine and lower ground floor level. 35% of these units will be classed as affordable with a mix of shared ownership and affordable rent. There will be roof terraces and a private gym on the 10th storey of one of the blocks for use by residents. The leaflet states that the commercial space provided will be 50% larger than the existing site. An indication is given in the document that the intention is to incorporate the smaller site at 95 Bollo Lane into the development.
Cllr Jo Biddolph who represents a ward adjacent to the site said, "This is another insult to Turnham Green ward’s residents - and the residents of Chiswick as a whole. The brochure highlights the convenience of Acton Town and Chiswick Park tube stations as well as South Acton railway station. Acton Town is the closest tube station for residents of the 500 or so homes in the Gunnersbury Park Garden Estate (GPGE) conservation area, the northernmost part of Turnham Green ward. Chiswick Park is used by many Turnham Green ward residents and Chiswick residents generally. As it’s a large development near Hounslow’s boundary, Ealing’s planners should have consulted Hounslow’s planners. I have asked Hounslow’s planning department to put in a robust objection, challenging its encroachment on the character of our area and the increase in pressure on our infrastructure." The developer has asked for feedback on its proposal by 28 May.
