Hundred Fire Fighters Tackle Massive Blaze at Park Royal | |
Fire at industrial unit on Western Road now brought under control
A massive blaze took hold of two floors of an industrial unit in Park Royal last night. Over 100 firefighters are tackling the fire which has spread to the building’s roof. They were called at 12.39am and are still on the scene although the fire was brought under control at 9.18am. Picture: London Ambulance Service Station Manager Bill Dunn, who is at the scene, said: “Crews arrived to find a well developed fire in a large industrial building. They then launched an aggressive and sustained attack on the fire to stop spread to adjacent buildings. Throughout the night, crews have been working very hard to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading using ground monitors and four aerial appliances on all sides of the building. “The fire is now under control, but firefighters will remain at the scene for most of the day damping down remaining hot spots. “The fire has caused a lot of smoke in the Park Royal area and residents are advised to keep their windows closed for the immediate future. We are continuing working alongside the Met Police, London Ambulance Service, TFL and the utilities providers to minimise disruption to residents and businesses in the local area.” Picture: London Ambulance Service
