Followed victim into nearby shop after fare dodging
British Transport Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to identify following an assault near Acton Main Line railway station. The incident happened at around 6pm on Sunday 19 July, when a man in his fifties was shoved aside by another individual who tailgated through the station barriers behind him. After forcing his way through, the suspect followed the victim to a nearby shop and slapped him in the face. Officers believe the man pictured may have information that could assist their investigation and are appealing to the public for help. Anyone who recognises him is asked to text BTP on 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 498 of 19 July. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. There was a similar incident earlier this year in May at West Ealing station when a man was punched after challenging someone trying to get through the station barriers behind him. The perpetrator is not believed to be the same as the one sought for the more recent incident at Acton Mainline.
