Aspiring gardeners and anyone interested in organic fruit and veg will have the chance to see the benefits of running their own allotment at an event this weekend.

On Sunday, September 2, Acton Allotment Association will open its plots for inspection for the first time, with members on hand to give tips on how to obtain an allotment locally.

In the afternoon John Chapple, head of the London Beekeepers Assoc will give a demonstation and answer questions. Free gardening advice and a pruning demo will also take place. Home made food,jam and chutney on sale.

Topics up for discussion will include growing organic fruit and veg, and garden design, with expert tips from garden designer Sarah Milner-Simonds.

 

Allotments will be open between 10am and 4pm at the Perryn allotment site, in Bromyard Avenue, Acton.
