Iconic Acton Garage To Close |

End of the road for classic car firm
The owner of an Acton car garage - which has been a local institution for thirty years - will be revving the engines for the very last time next week. Chiswick Car Craft based at Acton Lane will be closing down on 31st January - the building is expected to be turned into luxury flats. The garage opened in 1983 in Turnham Green by enthusiast Mike Keenoy whose interest in cars started as a youngster whilst fixing them with his father. Over the years he built up the business and moved to the present location on Acton Lane in 2003. The team of mechanics - Mike, Dave, Julian and Joe - cover MOTs, services and repair a varied range of vehicles from cars, limousines to light commercials. They specialise in classic cars. The garage has built a regular and loyal clientele but earlier this month Mike announced its closure - and his retirement: ''
After over 30 years in business, Chiswick Car Craft will close down on 31/1/2015. Having had the good fortune to work on and fix a variety of your cars, offer an opinion which you may or may not have wanted to hear it is time to slow down and retire. Customers have taken to their Facebook page and expressed sadness that it will be closing. Paul O Neil said: '' Will be very sorely missed ! A sad day indeed, will miss the loving banter exchanges, Good luck Mike and the boys.'' Liz Pendlebury said: '' You will indeed be missed , along with your iconic premises, your wisdom, your wit and your mad mad banter, who now will look after my fleet of cars.'' Sue Cahill added: '' Enjoy your well earned retirement, and thanks for keeping my old wreck going.''
