Decorating local in time for customers

The Rocket was a hive of activity this week with scaffolding on the exterior and painters and decorators working hard on the interior.

The new owner, Filip Filipovici, took over on Monday. He is putting in new toilets and working hard on the whole building - including the kitchen, the cellar and the extensive rooms above the bar and dining room.

Filip told us he wants to keep the restaurant and bar the same. "The food will be a similar style to how it was before, but I am looking for someone to create a delicious menu for me."

He also hopes to keep on many of the previous staff.

He said he plans to open the bar again today (Friday) and hopes that the restaurant will re-open next week.

Local residents and customers welcomed the fact that this popular local eatery and watering hole will soon be open for business again.
