Half Term Week of Culture with Descendants |

4 days of dancing drumming and arts & crafts at Ealing Town Hall
Local youth group Descendants is holding an international celebration of our heritage at Ealing Town Hall this February half term. Starting on 15 February and running for 4 days there will be dancing, drumming, arts & crafts and the chance to visit real ancient African artefacts during a trip to the British Museum. The event will be rounded off with a showcase at the end. It is aimed at ages 6-16 and runs from 10am to 3.30pm. The cost is £20 and if you’d like to attend you can register online. Descendants was started in July 1993 after overwhelming parental response following a performance by young people of African and Caribbean descent performing together at St. Vincent’s RC School in Acton. The evening made such an impact that the founder members of Descendants (Margaret Noel, Collette Noel, Chantel Noel, Celestina Uzoka, Lorraine Neckles, Helen Manufor and Kisha Noel) held a meeting to look into the development of a sustainable cultural group.
