East Acton Platform Closure Extended | ||||
Poorer than expected condition of station means works continue until May 2022
Transport for London (TfL) has announced that ongoing works at the East Acton underground station are to be extended until May of next year. It says that the longer closure is necessary because the eastbound platform’s current condition has proven to be worse that originally expected when reconstruction began with many of the supports needing to be replaced. Work began at the stations in August. This means there will be no eastbound service on the Central line from the station until the work is complete. Passengers using East Acton are advised by TfL to take the westbound train to North Acton and switch there to the eastbound service. Passengers wishing to get off at East Acton from an eastbound train are advised to travel onto White City and travel one stop back in the opposite direction. The work also means that there will be no Night Tube service at East Acton when it is reintroduced on Saturday 27 November.
