Five people flee blaze at office block in Acton Picture: London Fire Brigade
A fire broke out in the early hours of Friday morning at The Vale Business Centre in Acton. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to the fire which damaged the roof. Five people left the building before the arrival of the Brigade. The call to emergency services was made at 12.19am and the fire was under control at 2.38am. Fire crews from Acton, Chiswick and Hammersmith attended the scene. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental and due to hot works being carried out on the roof. Hot works involve use of portable gas or arc welding equipment, or alternatively soldering, grinding, or any other similar activities producing a spark. December 8, 2018
