Victim rescued by firefighters but dies later in hospital
A man has died after a fire took hold of a block of flats on Leythe Road in Acton this Tuesday afternoon (31 October). Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to the incident. A flat on the first floor of the building and part of the communal hallway was damaged by fire. The victim was rescued from the property by firefighters but he sadly died later in hospital A further six people left the building before the Brigade arrived. The Brigade was called at 12.54pm and the fire was under control at 2.27pm. Fire crews from Acton, Chiswick, Hammersmith and Park Royal fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation. October 31, 2017
