Fifty-eight fire-fighters tackle blaze on High Street through the night
A major fire broke out in the former Oaks Shopping Centre in the early hours of Tuesday morning (12 July). Eight fire engines and 58 firefighters and officers battled for nearly three hours with the fire in the building which is in the process of being demolished. Part of the basement has been damaged by the blaze. The Brigade was called at 12.48am and the fire was under control by 3.34am. Fire crews from Acton, Chiswick, Ealing, Hammersmith, North Kensington, Park Royal and Paddington fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation. July 12, 2016 |
