Charity says that one in four will be going hungry over the holiday
Up to 200 meals for vulnerable people in the area can be provided by the donation of £50 towards a Virtual Christmas Food Box. Acton-based charity City Harvest collects nutritious surplus food from all segments of the food industry including restaurants, grocers, manufacturers, wholesalers, hotels and caterers and redistributes it to 300 charities who ensure the food goes to those that need it most. According to the charity, 1 in 4 people are set to go hungry this Christmas and the need for food is growing. With Tier 3 restrictions in place the supply of free food will be reduced this year so extra direct support will be much appreciated. Every £1 donated towards Virtual Christmas Food Boxes will provide a meal for 4. So £10 will provide 40 meals, £25 = 100 meals and £50 = 200 meals.
