Petition To Make Busy Acton Roads Safer |

Calls for better pedestrian facilities from South to connect to East
An Acton resident has set up a petition calling for a safer crossing at a busy local road junction. Charles Richard says Old Oak Road and the A40 Westway are difficult and dangerous places for pedestrians and wants to see an overpass or underpass installed. He's set up a petition urging Ealing Council works with Hammersmith and Fulham to make the area safer. It reads: A lot of residential buildings have been built on the south side of the Westway, around the Old Oak Road area. More are coming (on the old Homebase lot). A lot of the residents of these developments are crossing the Westway at Old Oak Road to get to East Acton tube station. The crossing is currently very slow, and very dangerous. The lights are not synchronised so pedestrians need to stop in the middle of the road. They have to wait a lot between green lights. It seems fair to build an overpass or underpass on this junction, to facilitate safe pedestrian crossing. The petition is open until 24th December and can be signed here
