Dave Vaughan was born 21st April (Queens Birthday) 1942, in Essex Road Acton, and attended Acton County Grammar school. After National Service he started up D&D Motors at Cleveland Works (behind Alex Whittle). The business was a success and he bought a second home in Spain and had 4 children.

He was a keen golfer and also played snooker in his youth. He used to drink in the Swan pub and would often have a hot lunch in the cafe round the corner. He would sometimes drink in the British legion in Greenford. 'Woody' was one of his best friends and Dave Hines (who emmigrated to Australia).

Dave sadly died at the age of 74 from cancer, Consultants have told the family is was likely to be related to the old lead paint and diesel fumes of his trade.

His funeral will take place at 2:45 on 29th July at Milton Keynes Crematorium - close to where he retired and the wake is at the Windmill Hill Golf Club.

Sharon says '' Anyone that knew Dad is welcome to come and pay their respects.''

Dave's mother Alice Connor (Vaughan) died two years ago just before her 100th birthday. She also lived in Acton all her life, up from the station on the main road.
