Police say motorist had left the scene before they arrived

Police tweeted this photo on Tuesday ( 27th September) after being called to the scene of a road accident near Acton Cemetery.

They say the driver had vanished from the wreck on Park Royal Road before they got there at 10.50pm. The car had landed on its roof in the middle of the road.

They tweeted the photo and said:

'Response team B officers dealing with an RTC in North Acton. Please drive safely'

Officers were still trying to trace the motorist the following morning - it's not known if anyone else was involved in the accudent.

The road was closed for a few hours on Wednesday (September 28) as emergency services cleared up.
