Centenery Celebrations For Acton Bookbinders | |||
Blissetts is 100 years old and this year will move from its Roslin Road base
An Acton business which has Royal approval is celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year. Blissetts Bookbinders, which is based on Roslin Road was established in 1920 by Frederick Blissett and has been run by third generation, trained binder, Gary Blissett, and his son Chris.
The company produce a range of yearbooks and photobooks, undertake thesis binding, wedding albums, and believe their strength lies in the ability to integrate age-old, artisanal skills of bookbinding with modern technology and computer software. Managing Director Gary Blissett sent information about future plans for the business, and himself, in the company's newsletter: '' Welcome to 2020, another decade and a milestone for Blissetts as we celebrate our 100 years anniversary. 2020 will be quite a year for us, certainly one of the most memorable in the last 100 years, but of course there are other milestones I think of in this centenary year, not least some recollections from the past. ''After 58 years we will be moving to modern premises more able to cope with our printing and binding services· Chris Blissett (4th generation) will take over running the business which I have done for 40 years. I will stay on as a consultant for as long as he wants me!'' It's expected the company will move towards the end of the year to bigger premises nearby. 16 January 2020
