Members of the football club aiming to do 100km run or walk in March

Staff and players of Actonians Ladies Football Club are taking on a mammoth challenge this month.
They're aiming to raise vital funds for the Breast Cancer Now charity and planning to walk or run 100km each with the intention of achieving a total of 4,800km.
The Club is also challenging youth players to walk or run 30km in a bid to get more active whilst helping raise money for this great cause before they all return to football on 29 March.
Actonians LFC was founded in 1998 as Chiswick United consisting of one ladies team playing at Southfield park in Chiswick. The team entered the Greater London League in 1999 and two years later a reserves team was formed. Four years and a promotion later, ALFC moved to Acton (Park Place the old District Line ground) and become Acton Sports Club. In 2008 the ground changed ownership and the final move was made to Old Actonians where they are based now.
Firmly rooted in the community with much volunteer help, there are now three ladies teams (the first team is in the FA Women's National League) as well as teams for all age groups from U9 to U17.

Breast Cancer Now, helps anyone affected by breast cancer, providing support and they say through ground-breaking research, hope for the future. By 2050, the charity believe everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live – and be supported to live well. But research funds are more crucial than ever and fundraising events like this are vital.
